Tourists to Boat Festival in Ho Chi Minh City

Years ago, Ho Chi Minh City did not focus on developing waterway tourism. However, it participated in ITE HCMC with 2 booths, one for introducing Ho Chi Minh City and the other for promoting waterway tourism. With the careful preparation, this formal and scaled introduction attracted attention from a large number of visitors. By now, the city is eager to develop this kind of tourism, considering it as a potential new market. Recently, the city has elaborate and thorough preparation. Up to this point, there are over 100 vehicles, 15 other vehicles being exploited, and 60 cruises of all classes. In term of berth, there are 6 invested by Vietnamese government and other 8 socialized. However, for further development, it requires to build more 42 berths. Expectedly, in late third quarter and early fourth quarter this year, Ho Chi Minh City will officially put river routes into exploitation. It is expected that in the near future waterway tourism will become a unique type of tourism truly attractive to tourists visiting Ho Chi Minh City.
