Algeria - Vietnam cooperation for a wealthy development

To build a wealthy country with sustainable development, Vietnam and Algeria cooperate in different fields, especially in terms of justice. Recently, in the working visit of Algerian Justice’s delegation, the cooperation is more strengthened.

On June 11 afternoon, at the Vietnam National Assembly Hall, Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly Mr. Uong Chu Luu had a meeting with the delegation of Ministry of Justice led by Mr. Tayeb Louh - the Minister of Justice and Chancellor of Algeria. Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly emphasized the important significance of the visit. It further deepens bilateral Vietnam - Algeria cooperation in the field of law and justice and contributes to strengthening the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Algeria. Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly affirmed that Vietnam always remembered the support and great help of Algeria for the protection and construction of the country. He also expressed his pleasure with the good result that Algeria has made in the socio-economic development over time, which contributes to strengthening and enhancing the position of Algeria in the region and around the world.

It is a great signal that the relationship between legislative bodies of the two countries is constantly being strengthened and developed. Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly suggested the two sides should continue to promote the exchange of visits at all levels between the two legislative bodies to exchange experience of operation of the National Assembly, to strengthen monitoring of the implementation of agreements between governments and ministries of two countries. The delegation of Algeria expressed their thanks to the great welcome of Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly. The Minister of Justice stressed that the two countries had the same desire to live in peace, friendship and cooperation to build prosperous countries. Informing Deputy Chairman of National Assembly on purposes and results of the visit to Vietnam this time, Minister Tayeb Louh said that the two ministries of Justice should continue to sign the cooperation plan in law and justice for the 2016-2017 period. Ministries of Justice of two countries continue to cooperate more closely and effectively, contributing to the multi-faceted cooperation between Vietnam and Algeria.

Minister of Algeria Justice Tayeb Louh Chancellor expressed his desire for positive exchange to enhance mutual understanding and trust, as the basis for development of extensive, practical and effective cooperation, on all fields, sharing the legislative and judicial experience together. Implementing a plan for cooperation in 2014-2015, in the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between Vietnam - Algeria Ministries of Justice, the delegation of the Algerian is paying a working visit from June 9 - 14. According to the information about the work of perfecting Vietnam legal system, legal reform, and judicial reform, Minister Ha Hung Cuong said that at the end of 2013, Vietnam National Assembly passed the constitutional amendment. In the spirit of urgently implementing the Constitution 2013, Vietnam Congress and Government identified one of key tasks in the period 2014-2016 as completing legal system to conform to the spirit and contents of the Constitution of 2013. In particular, a number of important laws have been approved or considered by the Congress, promoted judicial reform, focused the issues related to the organization and operation of the courts and the supportive judicial institutions…

 

Vietnam President and Chairman of Algerian National Congress

 

Highly appreciate the share of Vietnam Ministry of Justice, Mr. Tayeb Louh Chancellor has informed on the judicial reform process and said that Algerian court reform was an important content in the judicial reform in Algeria with the key as reducing a number of cases submitted to the Supreme Court. On cooperation between the two ministries, Tayeb Louh Ministers emphasized the legal and judicial cooperation was basic activity to carry out cooperation in other areas such as economy and culture... Based on the positive results from the implementation of the Memorandum and cooperation plans between the two ministries, Tayeb Louh Minister wants the Vietnam - Algeria cooperation to grow and consolidate deeper, making a significant contribution to further the cooperation between Vietnam and Algeria relation in the context of a changing world.

After the talk, the two sides have signed the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Justice of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Ministry of Justice of Algerian People Democratic Republic in the phase from 2016 to 2017. Accordingly, in 2016 the two sides will exchange legal documents through appropriate forms, as required by each side. Parties would then exchange updated information on the status of the legislation enacted under its jurisdiction.
