IPO is Initial Public Offering in which a company sells its shares to the general public for the first time. Under the plan of equitisation of State enterprises, Vietnam Airlines intends to perform its IPO in September 2014.
According to the report of Airbus on April 23rd, Vietnam Airlines has become the first airline in Asia to use the latest advanced type of aircraft of this company named A350 XWB. The first A350 XWB will land at Vietnam airport in mid 2015.
Government will approve the value and number of stakes in the IPO expected to be implemented in June of Vietnam Airlines. Accordingly, the carrier is on the way to seek a strategic investor in coming Quarter IV.
Two new international direct routes to Tokyo, Japan's capital, namely Hanoi - Hanada and Da Nang – Narita will be exploited by Vietnam Airlines in forthcoming July this year.
On August 27th 2014, International Aviation Transport Association (IATA) in collaboration with Vietnam Airlines held a seminar themed “Aviation: Wings of economic growth and connect Vietnam to the World”.
After completing IPO (Initial Public Offering) plan, Vietnam Airlines will replace all its fleet with modern airplanes of Boeing 787 and Airbus 350. The airline also appeals investors by listing share in stock exchanges.
At the end of last September, European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certificated a safe aircraft category for commercial purpose of the newest Airbus' product, the A350 XWB (Extra Wide-Body). Vietnam Airlines will soon receive this aircraft.
On November 2nd, 2014, Vietnam Airlines officially launched route Phu Quoc – Singapore. The launching of these Vietnam airlines new routes will create favorable conditions to contribute to promote and develop exchanges between Vietnam and Singapore.
