From March 28 to April 1, the 132nd IPU Assembly will be hosted by Vietnam. The politic and diplomatic event of IPU 132 in Vietnam has a great significance to the country. Vietnam has completed all preparations for the important General Assembly.

That the assembly of IPU 132 in Vietnam would soon mark a milestone in the history of the World Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) is an affirmation of the president of IPU. This assertion shows the trust of the coalition and parliament members around the world when Vietnam hosts the General Assembly of the IPU 132 in March 2015. The active participation of Vietnam in IPU along with the organization plan prepared, and persuasive capacity development of Vietnam in recent years are the basis to make international friends believe in the ability of Vietnam, even this is the first time to host the General Assembly of the IPU.

In the framework of the 130th IPU General Assembly, Vietnam delegation led Mr. Nguyen Sinh Hung Chairman of Congress signed a Memorandum of Vietnam to host the 132th General Assembly, announced logo of IPU 132, develop a charming Vietnam cultural space in the convention center of the 130th General Assembly. All delegates attending IPU appreciated the preparation and organization of Vietnam for the 132th General Assembly. Being aware of the importance of the world's oldest multilateral cooperation mechanisms, Vietnam joined the coalition in 1979, and since then Vietnam has been always an active member and responsible in this forum. Vietnam is also appreciated by international and regional friends. Vietnam has repeatedly held important leadership positions in IPU, in the Executive Committee, the highest leading body of the IPU, and been elected as Vice Chairman of IPU in 2009. Vietnam affords strong support for the content and purpose of IPU's activities such as promoting democracy, peace and development in the world, promoting the role and rights of women and children...

 

Mr. Nguyen Sinh Hung has a speech at the conference

 

On March 15 afternoon, at the Vietnam National Assembly Hall, Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, Deputy Chairmans of the National Assembly such as Tong Thi Phong, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, and leaders of central branches and Hanoi joined the rehearsal program of opening ceremony General Assembly of Inter-Parliament Union (IPU 132). IPU 132 is expected to take place within 5 days (from March 28 to April 1), which is the great event of Vietnam politics and diplomacy. For the success of this event and leaving a deep impression in the hearts of more than a thousand delegates, Member of Parliaments from 166 country members attending the Congress, and Subcommittees are actively preparing for works, especially the reception and opening ceremony.

According to the scenario, the performances of monochord and other traditional music instruments will start the opening ceremony at Ba Dinh Hall to introduce Vietnamese culture, excellent music of ethnic people to participants. Next, it will be the welcome speech of President Truong Tan Sang. Nguye Sinh Hung Chairman of Congress will read the speech of opening ceremony. During the opening ceremony, there are English and French interpreters serving deputies. By this time, subcommittee of security, logistics, reception, and information have completed the preparation from technique to human resource, which ensures the safety of delegates attending the meeting, provides convenience for traveling and easy searching of information about Congress and Vietnam.

There are 126 domestic and international delegations attending the assembly. International delegations are arranged to stay at 11 hotels in Hanoi. During the time of the assembly, local traffic activities remain unchanged. However, the density in traffic flow will increase. Therefore, to ensure traffic, Traffic Police department in Hanoi developed plans of ramification, regulating traffic, welcoming delegations from Noi Bai Airport to hotels, from hotels to local point of the conference, with 100% of troops. Hanoi City's police also mobilize the entire maneuver force, police of order, and fast respond to participate in ensuring safety during Conference.
