Specifically, several luxury resorts in Dalat such as Dalat Star located in Tuyen Lam Lake area, Golden Valley, Prenn Waterfall, Cam Ly Fall, and Truc Lam Vien will drop their entrance ticket prices from 10 to 50 percent during summer. Nui Voi Picnic and Training Center, Center for ecotourism and environmental education – Bidoup- Nui Ba National Park, and Dam B’Ri Fall also offer 10% discount for package tours if tourists visit in groups.
A number of resorts, luxury hotels in Dalat also implement this program by discounting room prices, especially luxury rooms. Simultaneously, many new products for tourism continue to be explored by tourism companies in order to meet the diverse needs of entertainment and recreation of tourists visiting Dalat this summer. These include programs such as training courses of hunting skills and living in forest of Cu Lan tourist village, exhibition of “Cultural Space of Nguyen Dynasty woodblocks – world documentary heritage”, exhibition named “120 years of Dalat through archives” at National Archives Center, picnic activities named “not in Dalat City” and a large number of other adventure games and activities protecting the environment.
It is reported that since early June, the number of tourists visiting Dalat for relaxing and avoiding summer heat purposes has witnessed a significant rise. At certain popular tourist attractions such as Love Valley, City Flower Park, Dreamy Hill, Prenn Waterfall, Tuyen Lam Lake, … the number of tourists is rising considerably compared to that of previous months.
Earlier, in May, Dalat has welcomed over 208000 tourists, rising 14,4% compared to the number of same period last year, of which domestic tourists are more than 195,000, international tourists are 13,000, increasing 38.4 percent. It is reported that in 2013, about 4.3 million tourists chose Dalat as their destination to visit, experience, and resort, of which 240,000 were international tourists. Expectedly, that number will increase dramatically thanks to a large number of unique tourist events, especially the event of National Tourism Year 2014 – Highlands – Dalat which takes place during June until the end of the year. In addition, there are 21st fitness tournaments of fitness clubs in Vietnam, traditional musical instruments festival, Vietnam film week in Dalat City, summer festival named “rain in mountain”, contest of selected souvenirs, oratorios of folk culture and Highlands fashion shows.
Dalat tourism with its strength has become one of the well-known travel brands in Vietnam and is looking forward to a fascinating destination in Asia as well as the global tourist map.
