According to the new regulation, Vietnamese airlines include: Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, Bamboo Airways, and Jetstar Pacific will apply the policy on cutting down the frequency of Vietnam domestic flights from 30 March 2020 to 15 Apr 2020. All affected flights and passengers are supported by airlines according to airlines’ current policy with the best interest for customers.
Vietnam Airlines - the national flag carrier conducted a ticketing guideline. Due to cause of force majeure, the airline had to reduce the frequency of domestic flights in Vietnam to prevent Covid-19 outbreak.
Conducting the decisions of local authorities with an aim to prevent Covid-19, Vietnam Airlines will cut down the number of domestic flights from 30 March to 15 April, 2020. Specifically, all domestic flights will be suspended during the period, except for flights between Hanoi and Saigon, from/to Hanoi/Saigon to Da Nang/ Phu Quoc. These flights will be operated one flight per day.
From 28 March to 15 April, Bamboo Airways will reduce all domestic flights in Vietnam. For charter flights used for humanitarian purposes, the airline will suspend flights to Vietnam from foreign countries. One way international flights from Vietnam will be considered to operate if there is an agreement from the government.
Vietjet Air was also informed to suspend domestic flights from 30 March to 15 April, 2020. The new flights from/to Ho Chi Minh/ Hanoi to/from Da Nang/ Phu Quoc are maintained to operate one flight per day. Meanwhile, Jetstar suspended flights to Singapore from 23 March to 15 April. All passengers of Jetstar Asia with scheduled flights from 15 March to 30 April will be refunded as vouchers for unused flights.
Passengers of Vietnam Airlines, Bamboo Airways, and Vietjet affected by Covid-19 will be supported to change flights, change routes or refund as per the current policies of each airline. Besides, check in counters for domestic flights at Noi Bai Airport will be moved to Lounge B, 2nd floor, Terminal 1 (from B1 to B5 counter). All airlines in Vietnam also recommended passengers should be at the airport about 2 hours before estimated departure time, to avoid any trouble when finding check in areas.
