According to Mr. Tran Duc Lam, Director of Department of Planning and Investment, Quang Ninh will complete the cable car in Halong Bay in 2015. The project is included in the investment of $ 300 billion of Sun Group.

The cable car named Queen cable car has the starting point in Bai Chay District, Halong City. It runs through Cua Luc Bay, parallel to Bai Chay Bridge to the top of Ba Deo Hill. The height of the cable tower in Bai Chay is 188.8 meters and that in Ba Deo Hill is over 133 meters. The static height of the cable is 30 meter higher than that of Bai Chay Bridge. The 2-storey cabin can accommodate about 230 tourists, equal to the capacity of an aircraft. The project is designed as a giant park in Ba Deo Hill featuring an amusement park and a giant rotary on the top of the hill. When completed, it will be the world’s highest rotary compared to the sea level. The expected height is at an altitude of about 250 meters. From this spin, tourists may observe a panorama of Halong Bay and Halong City.

In addition to the project in Halong Bay, Sun Group is approved to research and implement the project building a luxury hot mineral resort in Quang Hanh District, Cam Pha City in an area of 730 hectares. The projects consists of 3 areas including a luxury hot mineral resort in an area of 160 hectares, a luxury resort near Bai Tu Long in an area of 420 hectares and a zone for conserving natural landscape in an area of 150 hectares. Representatives of Sun Group said that from the perspective of tourism industry, Quang Ninh is considered as a golden land to develop projects in tourism and recreation. However, there has not been an outstanding highlight in Halong Bay tourism yet. Therefore, Sun Group wants to invest in a truly large-scale project which will become the highlight of local tourism industry. Once completed, this project will develop Halong Bay into an destination of beautiful natural landscape, fascinating amusement park and luxury resorts in international standards.
