Mr. Huynh Tan Lap, the Vice Manager of My Son Holy Land has said that each year My Son welcomed dozens of student groups of universities and schools in Vietnam and even in foreign countries to visit and research. In 2013 only, there were more than 100 groups of students visiting My Son. In addition to students of culture and tourism, My Son Sanctuary also draws attentions of students majoring in other fields such as language, geography, architecture and art. Many universities in Australia and Japan have sent their students to My Son for training and practicing purposes. Generally, the time after Lunar New Year is most crowded with students coming for researching and practicing. Depending on their majority and research topic, students stay in My Son for a week or two to three months.
Recently, several universities in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City such as Hung Vuong university, Phuong Dong, Sai Gon schools or Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics have bring My Son to their curriculum as a compulsory destination for students of culture and tourism before graduation. According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai Thu, teacher of Travel and Tourism Administration Faculty of Phuong Dong University in Hanoi, the school organizes 3 to 4 times for third year student to My Son for practicing annually. My Son is the land in possession of artistic and cultural features of Cham culture that can be found nowhere else. Students are brought here to experience directly values of the heritage site to supplement the practical knowledge into the curriculum in school.
For students, the impression of My Son is a mysterious attractiveness that books or documents in schools never bring. Although it is truly not easy, many students still choose My Son as their topic for dissertation. In particular, there were several students specializing in archaeology, architecture and engineer of Technical University of Milan (Italia) who chose My Son as place for researching and practicing. They also participated in the project of conversing Cham towers.
In recent years, the Board of Management of My Son Sanctuary have implemented preferential policies for students, namely, discounting partly the entrance ticket, assigning staffs to support and guide students more about the history of the Holy Land. The increasing number to My Son Sanctuary is a clear evidence for its attractiveness. Therefore, the Board of Management of My Son always creates the most favorable conditions for students.
Despite existing for over one thousands years, My Son still hide many mysteries which have not been explained clearly yet. It is not only about values of architecture and art but also about spiritual culture that ancient Vietnamese had hidden in bricks of temples. That is the reason why My Son is always appealing to students everywhere.
