Dak Nong is one of the Central Highlands provinces of Vietnam. The province was re-established on January 1, 2014 under the resolution 23/2003/QH11 of Vietnam Congress. It is situated in Cambodia – Laos - Vietnam Development Triangle, which makes Dak Nong has a favorable geography to expand exchanges with the other provinces in the Central Highlands. This province is also key economic zone in the South, Central Coast and Cambodia. In the future, Dak Nong will become the dynamic economic development area of the Central Highlands.
The construction of Gia Nghia Commercial Center is a favorable condition to help Dak Nong develop in many aspects. The authorities of this province have approved Investment and Trading of Real Estate JSC (Intresco) to implement the project at an old airport of Gia Nghia Town. Besides, Saigon Co.op and Cho Lon Real Estate JSC are investors of the project with a total budget of 53 billion VND. This is the first and the biggest commercial center in Dak Nong province and also the fourth commercial center of Saigon Co.op in the Central Highlands after Dak Lak, Gia Lai and Lam Dong.
The project is expected to be completed and put into use on April 30, 2015 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the liberation of the South Vietnam. Project scale consists of a basement and a ground floor with the total area of 5000 square meter and the total floor area is 4,500 square meter including Co.opMart supermarkets, food courts, fashion stores, cosmetic stores and other utility service. In addition, the commercial center will be designed by a French company specializing in the design of villas in high terrain. Gia Nghia Commercial Center promises to be a trusted shopping center of local people and contributes to make commercial activities in Gia Nghia Town to be more vibrant. This is an important intersection between Highway 14 (Dak Lak, Ho Chi Minh City) and Highway 28 (Lam Dong) to create the convenience for delivering goods.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice Chairman of Dak Nong People’s Committee, Mr. Nguyen Bon said that although the province was established more than ten year, commercial activities of Gia Nghia Town still relies on the current commercial center. Hence, the price of commodities is always higher than other provinces, in details, 15 to 20 percent. The investment of Saigon Co.op in building Gia Nghia Commercial Center will help local people having a prestige destination to go shopping with the more reasonable price.
