Founded in 2002, Hoang Lien National Park is one of top important national parks in Vietnam. Located at an altitude of 1.000 - 3000m above sea level on Hoang Lien Son, the national park is one of most biodiversity centers in the country and Indochina.
Far about 9 km from Sapa town to the west, Fansipan Mountain is the highest mountain in Vietnam and Indochina peninsula, which is located on Hoang Lien Son mountain range. It is an ideal rendezvous for those who love adventure travel.
Fansipan is a peak of Hoang Lien Son Mountain Range, as well as the highest peak of Vietnam. This is also the highest peak of three Indochina countries - Roof of Indochina. The mount is one of famous attractions in Sapa.
Recently, two species of precious plants in Hoang Lien National Park were recognized as Vietnam Heritage Trees, Hoang Lien spruces and rhododendrons. And, the precious floral species which need reserving and propagating are listed in Vietnam Red Book.
