According to news from Vietnam Aviation Corporation, Vietnam Airlines will transfer a number of routes to VASCO. Currently, VASCO is trying to become an important air carrier of VAC in the near future.

VASCO becomes an important carrier of Vietnam Aviation Corporation in the Mekong Delta. Vietnam Aviation Corporation (Vietnam Airlines) has just announced that from January 26th, Vietnam Air Services Company (VASCO) - unit member  of Vietnam Airlines will replace VN Airlines to extract routes between Ho Chi Minh City – Rach Gia, Phu Quoc – Rach Gia/ Can Tho and jointly operate routes between Ho Chi Minh City – Phu  Quoc with Vietnam Airlines.

The plan aims to develop and make VASCO become an important airline of the Corporation in the regional of Mekong River Delta. It is expected that, in the future, Vietnam Airlines will continue to study the plan to transfer additional routes of Vietnam Airlines to the VASCO, to develop business scale and the exploitation of VASCO; thereby, it will meet the increasing travel needs of customers. Also, due to the fact that Pleiku Airport is in the time of construction of upgrading runways, taxiways, and aircraft parking, Vietnam Airlines continues to adjust the timing extraction flights between Hanoi / Ho Chi Minh City to Pleiku to the frame of daylight hours during the period from January 28th to March 15th (ie December 12th to January 25th in lunar calendar). Specifically, flights in January 2015 will be exploited before 16:30; and those in Febraury and March 2015 will be exploited before 17:00 daily.

Before that Vietnam Airline had revised mining schedule of flights to / from the Pleiku Airport into the frame of daylight hours during the period from December 1st 2014 to  January 27th 2015 and March 15 2015 to March 28th 2015. Vietnam Airline also announced that since January 29th 2015, all domestic flights exploited in E Lounge will be moved to A / B Lounge of Terminal T1 of Noi Bai International Airport. The conversion is to put counters of Vietnam Airlines domestic flights to gather in one area, allowing passengers to get more convenience in procedures, luggage and boarding. For Vietnam Airlines international flights at the new terminal, the opening time at counters is two hours before departure time and close 40 minutes before departure time.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai Yen, Director of Rach Gia Airport said that Rach Gia Airport will steer officers and workers to keep promoting achieved results to cooperate with VASCO to better the work of ensuring the quality of exploitation. At the same time, the airport’s administrator will propose to Kien Giang People’s Committee for continuing to support and have policy on effectively exploiting flights at Rach Gia Airport, to meet the traveling demand of customers, expand commerce and boost the socio-economic development of Kien Giang Province.
