The Mekong cruise has two deck. On the lower deck, there are couchettes and kitchen, while on the upper deck, there are restaurant, bar, terraces at the stern and at the bow. The double cabin is outfitted with two single beds and an en-suite bathroom (shower, bowl sink, WC, bath linen, and toiletries). The Mekong sampan possesses two types of cabins: Double Cabin and Twin Cabin. Each cabin has an area of 23 square meters. They are located on the main deck. Being outfitted with a double or single bed, each cabin provides a wide range of modern amenities such as hot water, hair-dryer, air-conditioning, fan, shower, toilet, complimentary drinking water, slippers, safety equipment and life vests, safety box, and en-suite bathroom. Day 1 – Saigon – Cai Be – Sa Dec
In the morning, you will transfer to Cai Be. At noon, you will get on Authentic Mekong Cruise then have a welcome drink. After that, the boat takes you to Dong Hoa Hiep Island to explore ever-green islands and pop in the local houses. Also, you have a walking tour to large fruit orchards. Then, the sampan cruises to the French Gothic Cathedral and a colorful port area. Here, you have a chance to visit colonial buildings, delightful flower gardens, and local coconut candy and rice paper factories. At noon, you come back to the boat and have lunch, while the boat sets sail to Sa Dec. In the afternoon, you will embark Cai Thia for a walking or cycling tour around the countryside. Here, you have an opportunity to explore tropical fruit orchards and daily life of local people in My Thuan Island. In the evening, you have dinner onboard and overnight midstream in Sa Dec.
Day 2 – Sa Dec – Lap Vo – Long Xuyen

Then, you take a small local boat to visit bricks and tiles kiln and the facility of producing earthenware pots on a river bank. Later, you will visit the center of Sa Dec Town and pop in local market here. Your walking tour keeps moving to the tracks of French novelist Marguerite Duras, followed by visiting blossoming Sa Dec flower, village and local industries. At noon, you come back to the boat to have lunch. In the afternoon, the sampan sets sail through canals of Lap Vo. Day 3 – Long Xuyen

You will have a chance to explore evergreen islands and visit the traditional house where surviving members of the Kiet family. They will welcome you with tea. Then, you can wander in the fruit orchards around the house. Back to our boat and enjoy welcome back drink. Check out and disembark.

SAFETY
Safety comes first in the design and operation of the ships. Floatation devices are available for all on board and more, redundant alarm and fire detection as well as redundant firefighting means are present on all the Authentic Mekong Cruise. The handrails all around the ship are sturdy and a mesh of rope prevents any kids from falling. Upon boarding, the passengers are informed of the areas that are open or off-limits to them, and instructed about emergencies, how to give the alarm and where to meet.
WHEN TO VISIT MEKONG RIVER DELTA
- The most popular time of year to visit the region is between November and April.
- The hot season, from March to May is very dry, but in some places. During this time, some rivers are harder to navigate, and boat journeys in remote places may not be possible.
- The rainy season, generally from June to September is for many people the best time to travel - despite the fact that it rains, it never gets that cold, and nearly all hotels and guesthouses have rooms available - often a lot cheaper than during the high season
WHAT TO BRING
- Light clothing: made from natural fibers is the best clothing for the region.
- Warm clothing (for month from December to January)
- Footwear: bring sandals or slip on to take off easily when entering temples. Flip flops can be bought very cheaply just about anywhere.
- A small collapsible umbrella is sensible for the rainy season.
- A flashlight is a good idea, in case of power cuts.
