Hue tourism is growing significantly

In the first 5 months of this year, Hue tourism has welcomed 1.04 million tourists, of which 413 thousand are international tourists, increasing 13% compared to that of the same period in 2013.

The revenue from tourism during this period has reached 1,525 billion VND, increasing 21.8% compared to that of 2013. Leading the international tourist market in Hue city is Australia with a surge of tourists, accounting for 16.13%; followed by tourists from Thailand accounting for 11.57%. That proportion of America is 9.02%, Germany 7.33%, France 7.28%, and Japan 4.74%. Especially, Korean market has been listed in the top 7 leading market in Hue tourism for the first time. The number of tourists from Korea accounts for 7.29%, increasing 3.22% compared to that of previous years. Tourists visiting Hue by ships have reached 22.944 turns, of which the majority is tourists from Hong Kong, Italy, Spain, England, the U.S, Canada, and Australia. International tourists praise Hue tourism highly, not only for fascinating landscapes and attractions but also for unique cultural features. Many foreign TV channels have broadcasted the beauty of Hue City as well.

In the next 7 months of the year, Hue City will strengthen the tourism promotion, combine promoting activities with developing Hue City into a special cultural and tourism center. The City has planed for exploring ecotourism and natural beaches effectively in this summer. After sightseeing Hue relics, tourists may take part in tour exploring Tam Giang Lagoon. Particularly, tourists also participate in processing and enjoying Hue culinary culture with several specialties like Hue traditional cakes and che Hue (a kind of sweet dessert).

Famous attractions in Hue, namely, Truc Lam Zen Monastery, Huyen Tran Culture Center, Thanh Toan Bridge, Hue garden house, Phuoc Tich ancient village, Tam Giang Lagoon and so on are always full of tourists. Lang Co and Thuan An beach are extremely attractive destinations in summer. Hotels, resorts and hostels here can serve tourists with full occupancy. Recently, the province has held a festival named “Lang Co – world beautiful bay” to honor 5 years of Lang Co Bay entering Worldbays Club as one of the most beautiful bays in the world. The festival has taken place successfully with many vibrant activities and excellent art programs.

In addition, Hue Monuments Conservation Centre also actively organizes more and more practical activities such as tourism stimulus weeks, discount programs for tourists, increase in the number of cultural activities, exhibitions, and artistic performances. Especially, artistic performances will be held nightly in some areas inside Citadel City of Hue, expectedly, in Duyet Thi Duong, Co Ha Garden, and other palaces in the near future. With all those efforts, it is expected that the number of tourists visiting Hue City in following years will flourish.
