Vietnamese products attract interest in South Africa fairs

On June 22th, the 21st South Africa International Trade Exhibition has been opened in Johannesburg City of South Africa. During the exhibition, international importers show great interest in Vietnamese products.

The Trade Exhibition is an event held annually by South Africa. This year exhibition has the participation of a large number of enterprises from 45 countries worldwide. The aim of Vietnamese delegation participating in the exhibition is to promote and display typical products of 15 large Vietnam enterprises, especially products in agricultural sector of AgriThangLong Company, construction materials of Hao Canh Sanitary Wares and Mikaido Companies, computers and electrical equipment of Thanh Giong Company and 91 Manufacture Electricity Joint Stock Company, pharmaceutical products of Traphaco and handicraft items.

In particular, the Vietnam Trade Office in South Africa has opened a new booth to introduce Vietnam’s rice. The free fried rice included in the menu has been praised by many participants. Especially in the opening day, 4 Vietnamese booths have been visited by more than 200 importers in South Africa and other countries in the region. They expressed their desire to learn more about quality, price, and procedures for export of Vietnam. At the end of the day, they have signed a number of contracts with Vietnamese representatives. 

 

SAITEX 2014

 

Mr. Phan Tien Binh, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, Head of Vietnamese enterprise delegation in this exhibition, said that SAITEX 2014 has an important meaning for Vietnam enterprises. Participating in this year fair held in South Africa, a leading economic country and the gateway of the continent, is a good opportunity for Vietnam enterprises to approach, research and penetrate into Africa market. The high interest of visitors to Vietnamese booths showed that a number of items Vietnam introduced this time could penetrate into South Africa market and neighboring countries. Mr. Le Huy Hoang, the Ambassador of Vietnam in South Africa, has delighted at the positive responses of South African enterprises to Vietnamese goods. He believed that the trading potential between Vietnam and South Africa is so huge that it needs to be exploited actively for the mutual benefit of all parties. In the future, Embassy of Vietnam in South Africa will continue to organize similar events of trading promotion in other major cities of South Africa.

 

Vietnamese workshop in SAITEX Africa 2014

 

SAITEX is considered as the largest multi-sector trade fairs in Africa and held annually in South Africa in order to create a bridge among manufacturers, import and export companies, distributors and agents in areas of consumer goods. It is reported that this year SAITEX gathered over 900 agencies and enterprises from many important emerging markets such as South Africa, China, India, Brazil, Turkey, Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam. It is expected that there will be nearly 15,000 visitors during 3 days of the trade fair.
