Shining Vietnam Fortitude Gala in Ho Chi Minh City

On May 21st, the “Shining Vietnam Fortitude” Gala was celebrated at Phu Tho Sport Complex in Ho Chi Minh City. The Gala aims to honor people who overcame their adversities and became typical examples in the society.

“Shining Vietnamese Fortitude” program is jointly held by Vietnam Youth Federation, Hoa Sen Group, Thanh Nien Newspaper and Vietnam Television – the Youth Board in order to continue the fortitude that Nick Vujicic brought to Vietnamese Community in 2013.

Through “Shining Vietnamese Fortitude” program, the organizing committee hopes to orient the youth to good values of life through true and touching stories about people who overcame their adversities and became typical examples in the society. Additionally, the organizing committee also wants to honor disabled people who strived to overcome their difficulties, adversities and misfortune, obtained outstanding achievements and contributed to the community positively.

With the topic of “facing the barriers”, the program had shared with a large number of young people as well as participants touching stories and messages about adversities but having extraordinary fortitude. For example, the story of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Do, a mother carrying her son to school during 20 years, the tearful struggle against cancer of Mr. Nguyen Vu Hiep, the courage against the fear of failure of the teenager Do Ba Huy. Gala night was also an opportunity for 21 typical examples that were selected from the competition writing about “typical extraordinary examples” on Thanh Nien Daily to meet.

Especially, the Gala had the participation of Nick Vujicic, an Australian motivational speaker born with a rare syndrome which is characterized by the absence of all four limbs. The talk between Nick Vujicic and audiences is one of the highlight. Through his confidence, Nick transmitted messages to encourage the disabled to come over the difficulties of life and become useful to society,

With the criteria “audience is the main factor”, “Shining Vietnam Fortitude” Gala was transmitted in such an extremely unique and impressive way that made a strong appeal to audiences. Also at the Gala, Hoa Sen Group awarded gifts worth 30 million VND each for 21 examples who overcame their adversities and 10 scholars worth 10 million VND each for students who wined their difficulties and gained good achievements in learning.

Launched since November 2013, the program “Shining Vietnam Fortitude” has received attention and support of all social classes. According to the organizing committee, Gala “Shining Vietnam Fortitude” held in Ho Chi Minh City this time was an opportunity to summarize achievements, simultaneously, promulgate more widely good values to the community with 3 main messages: live honestly, responsibly, and energetically.  The first Gala was held at Phu Tho Sports Complex in Ho Chi Minh City on May 21st and broadcasted live on VTV6 channel.
