On June 15, 2014, the first free shuttle bus in Halong has been operated. By dint of this service, tourists can travel easily between important tourist attractions from Bai Chay to Halong Marine Plaza, or a new beach – Marina Bay.

Halong Bay has been a fascinating attraction in Vietnam. Annually, the place welcomes millions of tourists from all over the world. Therefore, the need of transport in Halong is increasingly important, especially some kinds of free public transports. On June 15, 2014, Syrena Vietnam Investment and development Corporation – the investor of Marine Plaza project, launched free bus (Shuttle bus) in Halong Bay to meet the travel demand between major tourist attractions on route from Bai Chay to complex of trade and entertainment – Halong Marine Plaza, and the new beach – Marina Bay Beach. Mrs. Doan Thanh Mai, the general director of Syrena Vietnam Investment and development Corporation said, “Shuttle bus is the concept of a bus running continuously (off and on) on a certain route with short routes, usually found in airports. This type of bus is not new in major tourist cities, but relatively new in Halong City – one of the key tourist destinations in the North of Vietnam. To meet the demand of moving on route from Bai Chay to the complex of trade and entertainment – Halong Marine Plaza, we decided to build and develop these shuttle buses called Marine Plaza Bus”.

Opened from May 4, 2013, the complex of trade and entertainment – Halong Marine Plaza (on Hoang Quoc Viet Street, Ha Long City) is considered a major commercial center, exciting and fascinating attractions for both local people and tourists to Ha Long. With a total area of ​​110.000 square meters, Halong Marine Plaza is built with modern functional areas, including featuring entertainment service such as Halong City Market shopping area, Culinary Streets, Seafood Market, and artificial beach. Since the operations of these functional areas, Halong Marine Plaza has appealed thousands of tourists to come to amusement park, entertainment center, and shopping mall. This is a new attraction and a new tourism product to attract tourists to Ha Long. Mrs. Doan Thanh Mai also share, “On one hand, the opening of the bus is in the plan of general urban development in order to improve the utility services for residents and the convenience of tourists coming to Halong Marine Plaza. On the other hand, the shuttle bus exploitation and operation also show the determination and relentless efforts to bring civilized life and make Halong Marina Plaza become the most livable urban in Halong in particular and Quan Ninh in general.

In the early stages of deployment, Marine Plaza Bus works from 15 pm to 22:10 pm every day. These buses continuously operate four turns per day, and carry 29 passengers at most per turn. With the motto “Safe, convenient, clean, and punctual”, the system of Marine Plaza Bus will become a friendly and civilized transport serving all tourists coming to visit, and investors coming to survey real estate projects in the urban area. The starting point of the route is Halong Plaza Hotel and the ending point is the Marina Bay Beach. The schedule of Marine Plaza Bus will have more than 12 stops at hotels, beaches, major shopping streets located on Bai Chay, Hoang Quoc Viet Street. These shuttle buses become a utility choice of tourists when visiting Halong. Before the Marine Plaza Bus is officially in operation, information on bus routes has been published extensively to tourists and residents in the area with high support.

Ms. Bui Thi Huyen, a resident in zone 3, Bai Chay Ward, Ha Long City said, “Normally, I sometimes take my family to Halong Marine Plaza as the difficulty in transport. Now, with the operation of shuttle bus in Halong, we can go more often without worrying about transport or time. In addition, on the website of Syrena Vietnam Investment and development Corporation, some tourists also shared that they had more opportunities to visit many civilized attractions by this means of transport. By virtue of the new free transport, Halong tourism increasingly attracts a large number of tourists and investors to the city. This is not just simply a mean of transportation in this beautiful city, but it also proves that the authority of this city is trying their best in the comprehensive and sustainable development of the city.
